Rachel Mlota
Founder and CEO
Rachel Mlota is a UK-based Quality Engineering and Digital Risk Consultant with extensive international experience delivering enterprise-level quality transformation across finance, healthcare, education, media, gaming, retail, and AI-driven digital platforms.
She has worked within mature global technology ecosystems while also contributing to the growth of tech communities across the United States, Kenya, Egypt, Ghana, South Africa, and now Malawi. Her exposure to both developed and emerging markets uniquely positions her to translate enterprise-grade quality standards into scalable, locally adaptable models.
Beyond her consulting work, Rachel is actively building technology ecosystems through Lilongwe Tech Exchange, a national platform focused on talent development, industry collaboration, innovation, and digital transformation. Through this initiative, she works to strengthen connections between technology professionals, businesses, educational institutions, investors, and policymakers, helping create sustainable pathways into employment, entrepreneurship, and industry growth across Malawi.
Quality strategy at enterprise scale
Rachel specialises in defining and executing end-to-end quality strategies within complex, data-rich ecosystems. Her expertise spans backend, API and UI governance, automation transformation, CI/CD integration, payments validation, regression strategy, risk and defect analytics, release governance, and executive-level test reporting.
She combines deep technical capability with strategic advisory leadership, working directly with engineering and product teams to optimise test coverage, manage delivery risk, and embed scalable quality frameworks that protect revenue, platform integrity, and customer trust.
Her experience includes delivering quality strategy and transformation for organisations operating within highly regulated and commercially critical environments. She has led automation transformation initiatives, embedded structured SDLC governance in mature cloud-native environments, and advanced test maturity across AI-integrated systems, including LLM-integrated product validation.

Rachel's experience within mature global delivery environments underpins her mission to introduce enterprise-level quality standards into the Malawian market while building long-term, locally owned digital capability.
Mlota Testing Academy
The Academy forms the capability-building arm of the Mlota Ecosystem — developing entry-level and career-transition testers through ISTQB-aligned, scenario-based learning and feeding skilled professionals into local organisations.
